Key to Beautiful Lawn

Key to Beautiful Lawns is Consistent Care

Golf courses, who employee large staffs to maintain their turf on a daily basis have learned the importance of maintaining the quality of the turf by not letting little things slip by. When things are overlooked or ignored, the beauty and high quality of the lawn can rapidly deteriorate. Because of this, they have created closely monitored timetables for the proper applications of fertilizer, weed control, aeration, and even mowing - providing golfers with the enjoyment of a high quality turf as they golf. As homeowners, you have the same desire for your lawn. We at GreenTurf Lawn Care strive to provide you with a high quality lawn that you can enjoy all season long. We are able to accomplish this with your help. We have carefully structured our programs so that your lawn receives the appropriate nutrients and wed control when it needs it the most. Depending on the season, our technicians carefully change and adjust the products that are applied to your lawn based on its needs for that time of year. It's when any parts of the program is missed that we see a decline in the look and quality of your lawn.

By working with a GreenTurf Lawn Care technician, and following our suggestions and tips, you will have a beautiful, lush, green lawn all season long.

Seasonal Care For Your Yard

Though lawns take very little work at this time of the year, there are a few things that you should keep in mind to help insure the health of your lawn.
  • Keep mowing wel into the fall, as long as the grass keeps growing or as long as tree leaves keep falling on your lawn.
  • Fertilize in November after growth has slowed or stopped but while it is still green.
  • Rake off or preferably mulch the tree leaves to prevent them from smothering the turf.
  • Minimize or eliminate traffic on the lawn after it has stopped growing because it cannot heal itself during the winter. This is especially true on frosty mornings while the grass is still green.
  • Instead of pilling snow into one large pile at the end of the driveway or walk, try to spread the snow more evenly on the lawn. This will help to prevent snow mold.
